Connect Autoview to Cursor in 2 minutes

Autoview · AI agents (MCP) · Cursor

Not yet tested on this client. The steps follow Cursor's own documentation (linked below). We have not run them ourselves yet. If something differs, the agent guide has the plain HTTP details.

The Autoview MCP server lets Cursor try orders in a free sandbox with no account and no exchange key. With a token from your Autoview account, it can also set up and send live orders.

What you need

  • Cursor installed.
  • For live orders only: an Autoview account (sign up free) and an agent token from /account/tokens/. The sandbox needs neither.

Add the server

  1. Open .cursor/mcp.json in your project (or ~/.cursor/mcp.json for every project). Create the file if it is not there.
  2. Paste the config below. If the file already has an mcpServers list, add only the autoview entry to it.
  3. Save. Cursor lists the server under its MCP settings.

mcp.json:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "autoview": {
      "url": "https://api.autoview.com/mcp/"
    }
  }
}

Check that it works

  1. Check that autoview shows as enabled in Cursor's MCP settings.
  2. In the agent chat, ask: Use the autoview server to run a sandbox market buy of 0.001 BTCUSD on Kraken and tell me the fill price. Cursor should call sandbox_run and report a simulated fill with real_order_placed: false.

The sandbox never places a real order and needs no token. It fills each order at one snapshot price, so live results will differ. The agent guide explains the fill rule and every error code.

Good to know

  • For live orders, add a header that reads your token from an environment variable, so the token stays out of the file: "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer ${env:AV_MCP_KEY}" } inside the autoview entry.
  • Cursor also supports OAuth sign-in, which the Autoview server offers. We have not tested either path on Cursor yet.

Going live

Live orders need an Autoview account, your exchange keys, and an agent token with "Allow live orders" on. The agent guide covers the rules for live orders. Create the token at /account/tokens/. Each live exchange is its own subscription; testnet and demo venues are free. See pricing.
