Connect Autoview to Claude Desktop in 2 minutes

Autoview · AI agents (MCP) · Claude Desktop

Not yet tested on this client. The steps follow Claude Desktop's own documentation (linked below). We have not run them ourselves yet. If something differs, the agent guide has the plain HTTP details.

The Autoview MCP server lets Claude Desktop try orders in a free sandbox with no account and no exchange key. With a token from your Autoview account, it can also set up and send live orders.

What you need

  • The Claude Desktop app, or claude.ai in a browser. Custom connectors work on Free (one connector), Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans.
  • On Team or Enterprise, an owner or admin adds the connector for the organization first, under Organization settings, Connectors.
  • For live orders only: an Autoview account (sign up free) and an agent token from /account/tokens/. The sandbox needs neither.

Add the server

  1. Open Settings, then Connectors.
  2. Choose Add, then Add custom connector.
  3. Name it Autoview and paste the URL below.
  4. For authentication, choose No sign in to use the sandbox only. For live orders, see Good to know below.
  5. Click Add.

Remote MCP server URL:

https://api.autoview.com/mcp/

Check that it works

  1. Start a new chat and make sure the Autoview connector is turned on for it.
  2. Ask: Use Autoview to run a sandbox market buy of 0.001 BTCUSD on Kraken and tell me the fill price. Claude should call sandbox_run and report a simulated fill with real_order_placed: false.

The sandbox never places a real order and needs no token. It fills each order at one snapshot price, so live results will differ. The agent guide explains the fill rule and every error code.

Good to know

  • Claude connects to the server from Anthropic's cloud, not from your computer. The Autoview endpoint is public, so this works as is.
  • For live orders, add a request header Authorization: Bearer av_mcp_... with your agent token, or use the sign-in option (the server supports OAuth).
  • This page covers the Connectors screen only. The claude_desktop_config.json file is for servers that run on your computer, so it is not used here.

Going live

Live orders need an Autoview account, your exchange keys, and an agent token with "Allow live orders" on. The agent guide covers the rules for live orders. Create the token at /account/tokens/. Each live exchange is its own subscription; testnet and demo venues are free. See pricing.
