Connect Autoview to Claude Code in 2 minutes

Autoview · AI agents (MCP) · Claude Code

Tested on Claude Code, October 29, 2026. We added the server with the command below, and Claude Code called pricing and sandbox_run on the live endpoint and got answers back.

The Autoview MCP server lets Claude Code try orders in a free sandbox with no account and no exchange key. With a token from your Autoview account, it can also set up and send live orders.

What you need

  • Claude Code installed (the claude command in a terminal).
  • For live orders only: an Autoview account (sign up free) and an agent token from /account/tokens/. The sandbox needs neither.

Add the server

  1. Open a terminal in your project folder.
  2. Run the command below. It adds Autoview for you in this project. Add --scope user to add it for every project, or --scope project to save it in the project's .mcp.json.
  3. Start claude. A server saved in .mcp.json asks for your approval the first time.

Command:

claude mcp add --transport http autoview https://api.autoview.com/mcp/

Check that it works

  1. In Claude Code, type /mcp. autoview should show as connected.
  2. Ask: Use the autoview server to run a sandbox market buy of 0.001 BTCUSD on Kraken and tell me the fill price. Claude Code calls sandbox_run and reports a simulated fill with real_order_placed: false.

The sandbox never places a real order and needs no token. It fills each order at one snapshot price, so live results will differ. The agent guide explains the fill rule and every error code.

Good to know

  • For live orders, add your agent token as a header: claude mcp add --transport http autoview https://api.autoview.com/mcp/ --header "Authorization: Bearer av_mcp_...". Keep the token out of files you commit.
  • The server also supports OAuth sign-in. Run /mcp in Claude Code and choose to authenticate. We have not tested the token header or OAuth on Claude Code yet, only the sandbox.

Going live

Live orders need an Autoview account, your exchange keys, and an agent token with "Allow live orders" on. The agent guide covers the rules for live orders. Create the token at /account/tokens/. Each live exchange is its own subscription; testnet and demo venues are free. See pricing.
