Tradovate login errors in TradingView vs Autoview errors
The short answer
If the error appears in TradingView's trading panel when you log in to Tradovate, it comes from TradingView's own Tradovate connection. Autoview does not use that connection. The fixes below come from TradingView's help pages, checked on October 7, 2026.
If the error appears in your Autoview log, it comes from Autoview's Tradovate connector. That connector signs in to Tradovate's API on its own. A login problem in TradingView's panel does not by itself mean your Autoview orders fail.
Errors in TradingView's Tradovate panel
"Tradingview has not been entitled to access your account"
TradingView says this means the TradingView add-on is not enabled on your Tradovate account. To turn it on, open the Tradovate platform at trader.tradovate.com, click Settings at the top right, and select Add-on.
If your account comes from APEX or Elite Trader Funding, TradingView says to contact the firm and ask whether it enabled the TradingView add-on subscription for your account. TradingView has a separate article for the same message on a NinjaTrader account. There the setting sits in the NinjaTrader dashboard on the Plans tab of Settings, where TradingView is listed.
"You can't trade the symbol" or a non-tradable symbol message
TradingView's article on the non-tradable symbol message says futures orders through Tradovate need a real-time data subscription on the broker platform. Buying a data package on TradingView alone is not enough, and the orders can't be placed. TradingView also mentions data verification through a live Tradovate account and points you to its support team for details.
"Account configuration is invalid"
We could not find a TradingView or Tradovate help page that explains this message. We searched TradingView's support site and its Tradovate issues folder on October 7, 2026. Rather than guess, contact TradingView support about the panel, and Tradovate support if the cause is your account setup.
TradingView's Tradovate folder also has articles on 2FA from a new machine and a wrong username or password. Others cover missing access to Live or Demo accounts, or no trading accounts at all.
Why Autoview is a separate connection
Autoview's Tradovate connector does not log in through TradingView. Here is what it does, read from the connector's code:
- It signs in to Tradovate directly. It sends your Tradovate login and your API key (the CID and Secret) to Tradovate's own login endpoint on
live.tradovateapi.com. - It follows the host Tradovate names. When Tradovate's login response names a different server for your account, the connector uses that server.
- It has no TradingView address. Your alert reaches Autoview, and Autoview talks to Tradovate.
So the TradingView add-on setting controls TradingView's panel. Autoview's access depends on your Tradovate API key, covered in Tradovate API access requirements. Tradovate's market data rules still apply to both. See Do I need a CME license for Tradovate? for how they affect Autoview.
Errors Autoview's Tradovate connector logs
These are the messages you see in the Autoview log, not in TradingView.
- Tradovate's own error text. When Tradovate rejects a request with an error message, Autoview shows that text as Tradovate wrote it, with a link to more help.
- "Request rate limited. Try again later." Tradovate asked the connector to slow down. If Tradovate gives a wait time, the message says how many seconds.
- "Unknown market symbol". Tradovate does not recognize the symbol in your command. When Tradovate has close matches, the message adds a
Try:list with them. - "Ticker is not available". The message names the ticker that is not available for the order.
"Symbol is inaccessible" and an account name Tradovate doesn't recognize are covered in Common error messages.
Where to go next
- Connect Tradovate to Autoview: the full setup, from API key to first test order.
- How do I get my Tradovate API key?: where each value goes in Autoview's form.
- Common error messages: more errors from the Autoview log, by exchange.
- Tradovate Sim account: test your commands on demo funds before you trade live.
FAQ
What does "Tradingview has not been entitled to access your account" mean?
TradingView's support article says the TradingView add-on is not enabled on your Tradovate account. Open the Tradovate platform at trader.tradovate.com, click Settings at the top right, and select Add-on. If your account comes from APEX or Elite Trader Funding, ask the firm whether it enabled the TradingView add-on for you.
Why does TradingView say I can't trade a symbol through Tradovate?
TradingView's article on the non-tradable symbol message says futures orders through Tradovate need a real-time data subscription on the broker platform. A data package bought on TradingView alone is not enough for orders to be placed.
Does a TradingView panel login error stop my Autoview orders?
Not by itself. Autoview's Tradovate connector signs in to Tradovate's API with its own login request, using your Tradovate credentials and API key. It does not go through TradingView's broker panel. Tradovate can still reject the connector's login or orders for its own reasons, and those show up in the Autoview log.
