Send your first alert
Your exchange is linked and your webhook is ready. Nothing trades until an alert reaches that webhook. This guide gets you from here to one dry run, then to one small live order.
Any tool that can send a webhook works as the alert source. TradingView is a common one, but a script or an automation service works the same way.
Step 1: Copy your webhook URL
Open Webhooks in the Account menu and click Copy link on your webhook. It looks like this:
https://api.autoview.com/hook/<your-webhook-id>/If your webhook has a key, the copied link ends with ?key=.... Keep that part. Without it, Autoview turns the alert away.
Step 2: Write a dry-run alert
An alert is plain text. Here is a small market buy with d=1 on the end:
s=BTCUSDT b=buy q=0.001 t=market d=1s is the symbol, b the side, q the quantity and t the order type. Use the symbol format your exchange expects. d=1 makes it a dry run: Autoview works out the order and records it, but sends nothing to the exchange.
You don't need e=. On a webhook, the order goes to the exchange account the webhook is linked to.
Step 3: Send it
In your alert source, set the webhook URL from Step 1 and put the alert text in the message or body field. Send it as plain text. JSON also works if the body is a string or has an "alert" field holding the text. Form posts are refused.
Some exchange setup pages have a Send test alert (dry run) button. If yours does, you can use it for this step. It only sends alerts that carry d=1.
Step 4: Read the result on your Activity page
Open Activity in the Account menu. The page itself is titled Event Log. Your alert shows up as a row.
- The Mode column reads Dry run, and the row is tinted blue. That is a dry run that worked.
- The Dry run and Failed only filters at the top narrow the list.
Step 5: Place your first live order
Remove d=1 from the alert. That is the only change. Keep the quantity at your exchange's minimum order size for this first one, then send it again.
You need an active subscription for that exchange to go live. Without one, Autoview runs the alert as a dry run even without d=1. Subscribe from your account setup page first.
With a subscription, the Mode column reads Live this time. Check the order on your exchange too, and keep the two screens side by side until live orders match what you expect. Then size up.
If it didn't work
No alert shows up, or it was refused. Check these in order:
- The URL is the full one from Copy link, with
?key=...if your webhook has a key. - The alert text is in the message or body field your alert source sends.
- The webhook is linked to your exchange keys. A webhook with no keys linked gets "No API Keys linked to this Webhook."
More checks are in alert not reaching Autoview.
You get a credential error. Your exchange turned the keys down. Check on the exchange that the API key is still active and has trade permission, then link it to Autoview again.
