Autoview vs AlgoWay
AlgoWay and Autoview both promise to get a TradingView alert onto OANDA. How they actually do it is not the same thing. AlgoWay routes the order through a MetaTrader 5 terminal and an Expert Advisor that has to keep running. Autoview talks to OANDA's own API directly. That one architectural difference decides most of what each tool costs you in practice, not just in the sticker price.
How each one actually reaches OANDA
AlgoWay's own documentation lays out the path plainly: a TradingView alert hits AlgoWay's webhook, AlgoWay forwards it to an AlgoWayWS-MT5 Expert Advisor sitting on a chart inside the OANDA MetaTrader 5 desktop terminal, and the EA places the order from there. That terminal has to be installed, logged in, and left running, with Algo Trading, EA trading, and DLL imports all enabled in MT5's permissions. AlgoWay states directly that broker availability, MT5 access, and account rules differ by region and account type, so this path is not guaranteed to work on every OANDA account.
Autoview connects to OANDA through OANDA's own API. No MetaTrader terminal, no Expert Advisor, nothing that has to stay open on a desktop. The webhook lands on Autoview's servers and the order goes straight to your OANDA account from there.
What the terminal requirement actually costs
AlgoWay's listed price does not include keeping that MT5 terminal alive around the clock. Close the terminal, lose your connection, or let a permission lapse, and the route stops working until someone reopens it. AlgoWay sells an optional MT5 private VPS specifically to solve this, $12 a month on the Basic tier, on top of the route price. Autoview's flat price already includes always-on execution. There is no terminal to keep open and nothing extra to buy to make that true.
The pricing models are shaped differently
AlgoWay charges per route, one signal source connected to one destination, at $7 a month for an MT5 route or $9 a month for a TradingView-webhook route. That is genuinely cheap for a single, simple connection, and multiple alerts through one route do not cost extra. Autoview is a flat $39.99 a month, or $399.99 a year, per exchange, with no per-route math and no separate VPS bill to keep the connection alive.
The honest comparison
| Feature | Autoview | AlgoWay |
|---|---|---|
| OANDA connection | Direct API | MetaTrader 5 terminal + Expert Advisor |
| Terminal required? | No | Yes, must stay open and connected |
| Works on any OANDA account? | Yes | Depends on region and account type (AlgoWay's own caveat) |
| Entry price | $39.99/mo flat per exchange | $7 to $9/mo per route |
| Keeping it always-on | Included | Extra VPS add-on, from $12/mo |
| Free option | Unlimited paper trading on every exchange | 14-day free trial (per AlgoWay's own listing) |
Which one is for you
If you already run MT5 for other reasons, and one cheap route to one OANDA account is all you need, AlgoWay's per-route price is hard to beat on paper. Once you count what it takes to keep an EA-dependent terminal alive, or if you would rather not depend on MT5 permissions at all, Autoview's direct API connection removes that dependency completely, at a flat price that already includes always-on execution.
Prove it before you pay. Make a free Autoview account, connect a demo or testnet exchange, and fire a test order. Several connections are free, so you can watch the execution path work with nothing at risk.
